The Why
of Some of
the What

So what's this all about, this owl?

In literature, the owl has always been the wise old bird (except in Winnie the Pooh, where he's the Dunning-Kruger poster bird.) I've reached the age where I can compare myself to that wise old bird and get away with it.

It also works out nicely that the name I chose 22 years ago, spinhead (I never capitalized it when it was just my screen name) can apply to a bird who can turn his head more than 180º.

Fonts

I have long loved the Josefin family from all the free fonts Google makes available. I'm using Josefin Sans for the body text and Josefin Slab for headings. I love the nearly circular openings, the lower x-height (which tradition says makes it less readable, but I think otherwise) and the sturdy uprightness and geometric certainty.
